Talk and Send Files

Another great feature of AIM is the ability to talk and send files to other AIM users. Note, this doesn't work for AOL users, only AIM users. To voice chat, just click 'Talk' on the IM dialog box, make sure you have a microphone and speakers on, and you're set. If you'd like to send a file to someone you're chatting with, click 'People' on the IM dialog box, then 'Send file'. Just choose your file and send it. If they accept a dialog of progress will appear. You can also embed images and sound into your IMs. Click 'People', then 'Connect to send IM Image'. Once connected, click the little painting above the text entry area and select your image or sound. This will upload it and it will be sent as an IM to the other user.

Inserting Hyperlinks

The last thing you can do is put a hyperlink in your IMs. Just click the blue 'Link' above the text entry box, type in your hyperlink and what you'd like to display for the link, click ok, and you're done.
